About

The IIChE-Student Chapter NIT Andhra Pradesh was established in 2018 at the National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh to motivate and involve students in Chemical Engineering activities. Student chapter-NIT Andhra Pradesh works to spread knowledge of chemical processes, industries, and engineering responsibilities among students. Overall, it aids students holistically in becoming skilled Chemical engineers.

The chapter organizes seminars, symposiums, and workshops throughout the year by bringing experts from industry and academia for the development of the students. Moreover, students get organizing experiences through their involvement in these events as an active part of the organization.

Industrial Visit (27/10/2018)
In order to inculcate the habit of practical learning through application, the Department of Biotechnology, National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh organized an industrial trip to Paramesu Biotech Pvt Ltd

The visit was organized with the prior permission and guidance of our director Prof. C.S.P Rao and the faculty members of the Department of Biotechnology.

About the Industry:
Paramesu biotech Pvt Ltd is basically manufacturer and supplier of maize starch powder. it is established in 2015 at Khammam - Devarapalli Rd, Devarapalli, Andhra Pradesh 534313

• Mr. Raju Mada, Application Engineer Spinco Biotech Pvt Ltd on “Advanced Chromatography Techniques” Part-II: i-Seminar on Basics, Instrumentation of Gas Chromatography and its Industry Application to the students and faculty members of National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh on 11th May 2020.
• Mr. Siva Kumar Vanaparthi, Application Engineer Spinco Biotech Pvt Ltd on “Advanced Chromatography Techniques” Part-I: i-Seminar on High Performance Liquid Chromatography and its Industry Application to the students and faculty members of National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh on 29th April 2020.
• Dr. P. A. Balakumaran, Scientist in Microbial Processes and Technology Division (MPTD), CSIR – National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, has delivered a guest talk on “13C based Metabolic Flux Analysis” to the students and faculty members of National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh on 7th June 2020.
• Prof. Ravindra Pogaku, Former Professor of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering at University Malaysia Sabah and currently CEO of SAARP LLC, South Carolina, US, delivered a talk on “Biorefinery” on 22th Nov 2019.
• A Guest talk by Dr. Satya Eswari, Assistant professor, National Institute of Technology Raipur on “Use of Green surfactants in cost-effective water treatment, as anti-cancer and anti-microbial agents” on 24th August 2018.
• Industrial Visit to Paramesu Biotech Pvt Ltd, Devarapalli, Andhra Pradesh on 27th October 2018.
• Biotechnical Engineering Association (BEA) successfully organized “One day Hands-on Workshop on “Basic Tools & Techniques in Bioinformatics using VLifeMDS” on 18th April 2018. Mr. Amit Bedi from Manager, VLife Sciences Technologies (A division of Nova Lead Pharma Pvt. Ltd) has delivered hands-on training programme on Homology modeling, Molecular Docking, 2D/ 3D QSAR, ChemDBS, MolSign, LeadGrow, and ProViz.
• Mr. Hanuman Mallubhotla, Director, Research and Development, Syngene International limited, Bangalore delivered an inspiriting talk on “Emerging Trends in Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing” on 19th April 2018. During his talk, he addressed about significance of biologics, advancements in Downstream Processing, over view of industrial working and opportunities in Biotechnology.
• Inaugural of the association followed by a guest talk by Prof. G. Narahari Sastry, Sr. Principal Scientist, CSIR- Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad delivered a talk on “Research trends in Immunology and related aspects” on 6th October 2018.
