The Powder Metallurgy Laboratory provides hands-on training in the processing and characterization of powder-based materials and components. The laboratory is equipped with facilities for powder blending, compaction, sintering, and testing, enabling students and researchers to study the processing–structure–property relationships of advanced engineering materials.

The Electrometallurgy and Corrosion Laboratory provides practical exposure to electrochemical extraction, refining processes, and corrosion behaviour of engineering materials. The laboratory is equipped with facilities to study electrochemical principles, corrosion mechanisms, and corrosion prevention techniques relevant to metallurgical and materials engineering applications.







The Welding and Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory provides practical training in various welding processes and techniques used in fabrication and manufacturing industries. The laboratory also facilitates the study of defect detection and quality evaluation of materials and welded joints using non-destructive testing methods.

The Materials Testing Laboratory provides practical exposure to the mechanical behavior and performance evaluation of engineering materials under different loading conditions. The laboratory is equipped with facilities for hardness, tensile, compression, impact, and other mechanical testing to support teaching, research, and material characterization studies.

The Metal Casting Laboratory provides practical exposure to various foundry and casting processes used for the production of engineering components. The laboratory facilitates the study of mould preparation, melting and pouring operations, solidification behavior, and defect analysis in cast materials.




The Computational Materials Laboratory provides exposure to computational and simulation tools used in metallurgical and materials engineering for analysis, modelling, and process optimization. The laboratory facilitates learning in areas such as materials design, thermodynamic calculations, numerical simulation, and computer-aided analysis of material behavior and processing.
